God’s Laughter

There is an old adage, “It is better to laugh than to cry.” If that saying is true then God must be in hysterics, laughing at His creation – at us. 2 Chronicles 25 relates King Amaziah’s victory over the Edomites. Notice what the King of Judah does in verse 14. After the victory he brings the gods of the people he just defeated into his place of worship and he begins to worship them! It seems as if the gods of the Edomites were more powerful than his God then the Edomites would have won, but they LOST! Why would they worship a god that had been defeated? The really hysterical part of all of this is that as I look around I see that we still do that. God has defeated the enemy, sin and death, and yet we still bring those gods into our lives and worship them. Join me as I do my best to worship the only God, our God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has already won. Let’s help each other to keep Him on the throne today. Blessings
