While the school was being built and awaiting registration with the Tanzanian Government, we hosted several pre-school classes to prepare the community and students for the future school.  After become registered in December 2017, we started the 2018 school year with three classes:  Baby Preschool for 4 and 5 year olds; Pre-Unity Preschool for 6 year olds and Standard I for ages 7 and above that had not entered school yet.  We finished the 2018 school year with 51 students and average class score of 85.76 on tests.  We also had a spelling and math competition for our Standard I and Pre-Unity students.  At the start of the school year in 2023, we have 228 students in 3 preschool classes and 6 Standard class.

The school year runs on the calendar year with school starting the second week of January.  The first semester runs from the start of the school year until the first week of June when schools close for a month (typically considered the harvest break).  The second semester starts the first week of July and runs until the first week of December.  There are also two short breaks in the middle of the two semesters.

All of our teachers for Pre-Unity and Standard Classes have a diploma from a teacher’s college and have passed the National Teacher’s examination.  We teach in english at the school, so they also speak english.  We have weekly classes for our teachers as well to continue to enhance their english and teaching skills.
