The Light

“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the Glory of God illuminated it.” Revelation 21:23 Have you ever met someone, a Christian, that was so spiritual you were afraid to even talk to them? I mean they were just constantly making you feel inferior because your “closeness” to God paled in comparison with theirs. They simply “reeked” of “holiness”, or at least they did in their eyes. I try to avoid those folks because they seem to darken my day, instead of bringing me more light. I’m not saying that I judge them, I just avoid them. I prefer to be around people that bring Light into my day, especially on those days that sin is threatening to block out all light. You see, the True Light draws us towards It, instead of pushing us away. True Light does not need any amplification or self-promotion. As John says, there is no need of sun and moon; just God. The challenge today is to stop trying to glorify ourselves and to just let God. Stop trying to be super spiritual and trying to help God make the Light shine brighter, and just trust Him – His Light. Let His Light shine through you to draw others in, instead of scare them away. Come on! Let’s move toward the Light. Blessings
