Kindness Birthday Celebration

Those of you who have been reading my blog for years (both of you) may remember Kindness being talked about in another blog. It was one of the early years of Tumaini Evangelistic Pre & Primary School. She would fall asleep on the ride home from school and would be nearly impossible to wake up. We would have to get one of her relatives from the high school near where dropped her off to carry her home. She was a sound sleeper. At that time she was in our Baby class.

This week we celebrated her 7th birthday. She is now a standard II student. We had quite a celebration complete with cake. They had the other students sing happy birthday to her about 20 times while they had her pose for different pictures.

The candle is actually like one of those pieces of fireworks that showers sparks in the air. I think in the video you can see her look of terror when it catches for about two seconds before she smiles.

I think the hardest part was cutting the cake so all the students could get a small piece but they did a pretty good job once we got the kids in a line.

I paid a lot of attention because this year the school has a weird schedule. Instead of closing for the mid year break the first week of June it will be the third week of June. This means I should be here during my next birthday and I am thinking about what I can do so all the kids can enjoy it and I can finally have a birthday party.
