Picture Day

Actually this may be more I get the good camera out and try and take every kids photo with a lot more pictures as well. This year we have 166 students at the end of March across 3 preschool classes and 5 standard classes. We only have two more standard classes to add to finish out a normal primary school. We have one class that has more than 30 students but the rest are under.

Let us start with the morning formation and especially the part were kids give their morning speech. This particular morning it was all preschool kids giving their morning speech. After they do the morning speech the other students clap and they are supposed to dance which is our next video.

I am going to be honest, I don’t even remember what I was trying to write in this section after five times of typing it in and the internet not sending it out into the world. I will be headed to the USA for a short break to comply with my visa (no more than 90 consecutive days in country). Rules for traveling between East African countries for non East African people remains fluid and expensive at times. So I will be home April 10-17. I will be here in Tanzania longer than normal because they will run the first semester until the end of July. This means I will be here on my birthday and I am planning a big party and lots of fun and games for the kids to celebrate for me. I don’t normally do birthday parties especially with 166 preschoolers and primary schoolers. So if you have any experience planning fairs or game days for these type of kids please feel free to give me some advice. I asked our teachers here and they requested I get a goat and some soda for them, not the kids. I am trying to keep the cost under $400 but make sure all the kids get a cupcake and a prize plus have a blast. So far we have a tic tac toe tournament, a connect 4 tournament, a boogle tournament, talent show, some games like sack races and tug of war.

We are also going to have an art show early in the day where each class will get to show off their artwork showing what they love about their school.
