Sowing Seeds

Have you ever had a “thought” about someone? Maybe their name just “popped” into your head and you began to wonder if they needed anything or if everything was okay with them. What did you do? I have had times when that happened and I did nothing. As a result of my doing nothing that person had no idea that I was even thinking about them. Their day was not impacted by me and my lack of actions. In Mark 4 Jesus tells the parable of the sower. He tells of the different soils and then of the different amounts of increase. When telling the story we usually skip over one of the most important parts. We quickly read past verse 3 that says “a sower went out to sow.” Think about it. If a sower does not go out to sow then how do any seeds get sown and how will there be any harvest? In order for us Christians to impact others lives with the Gospel we must go OUT to sow! When a name “pops” into our heads perhaps that is God directing us to a specific field. I’m going to better listen and respond to those names today. Maybe you can too? Blessings
